Hi. I see you looking at me. Hehehehehe. Stop. I'm blushing. Come in. Don't be shy. I do the shy around here. I won't have anybody copying my schtick on my blog.
My name is Nobbinmaug, sometimes. I'm a solipsistic, misanthropic, borderline agoraphobic introvert. (There's a word for that, writer.) Oh, yeah. Writer.
I've been writing forever if I may count my overactive imagination as a child. Before I was a teenager, I wrote a play that my brother and I performed for my parents. I've written everything from poems, songs, children's stories, movie scripts, a 15-episode South Park or BoJack Horseman-type cartoon series, to novels.
I've written five novels all of which are absolutely brilliant except for their faults. Not every one of them is polished or none of them if you ask my OCD mental editor. I'm a constant tinkerer and tweaker. I've written three The L Squad books and one Norman Normalson & The Normals. Those are family-friendly science fiction novels that occupy the same universe. The fifth, So It Goes, is an adult novel based on stories my friend shared with me from her time working in a Planned Parenthood-type OB/GYN clinic. It's very family-planning, but not very family-friendly. I'm still searching for a publisher or at least an agent while working on my sixth novel, Thoughts & Prayers (of A Pillar Of Salt). It's about a man whose life flashes before his as he holds a gun to his head while contemplating suicide after losing his wife and daughter in a school shooting. It's a family-friendly laugh riot, sometimes.
For the past few years, I've been writing synopsizes and character bios for my novels, poetry, an occasional nonsensical rant, and a lot of flash fiction on WordPress. For the past year or so, I've been recording audio versions of my flash fiction and uploading them to YouTube, Instagram, & TikTok. Trigger warning: They are very sexy. A fellow writer I met on WordPress who has become my writing buddy, someone to be weird with, blanket fort architect partner, and good friend hasn't stopped incessantly talking about Medium for months. Since, she lives in Australia, which I'm pretty sure isn't a real place, inhibiting our ability to construct blanket forts, I decided to come to hang out with Tannille here on Medium, which I'm still not completely convinced is a real place.
